Would you like to be able to access your PC from home?

April 9th, 2013

Logmein is a tool that we use at DentalPC to help fix your issues remotely. We can also setup multiple users under our subscription giving you access to your office computers from anywhere in the world. The nice thing about that is when you get an emergency call or prescription requests you don’t have to drive to the office. You can login to your computer system and it is like you are sitting in your office in front of your computer.

To access your computer, simply log into your account at logmein.com (if you don’t have an account give us a call) and select your PC from the list of available computers. The PC you are trying to access has to be powered on and have internet access. Click on the PC you want to remote into and put in the user name and password and that’s it! When you remote in it’s like sitting at that PC in your office, so all the programs are there and working.

LogMeIn works with Internet Explorer 7 or later, Firefox 3.0 or later, Google Chrome 2.0 or later, and Safari 3.0 or later. Browser support comes via an ActiveX control, Firefox plug-in, Java, or Flash. Host computers must be Windows 2000 (32-bit only) and newer (both 32-bit and 64-bit) or Mac OS X 10.4.6 (Tiger) or newer. Client support ranges from Windows NT 4 to Windows 7 (all editions) and Mac OS X 10.4 and newer.

I tested LogMeIn using all three Windows browsers and found the color depth and overall performance to be on par with one another. The web connection to the host is secured using 256-bit AES SSL encryption.

If you have any questions or you want to get started using LogMeIn at your office, just give us a call and we’ll set you up.
